About Dr. Marni
"Part Time Prof” is somewhat of a misnomer, given that I am a full-time professor at the University of San Diego, but a nod to the fact that I have a plethora of interests and pursuits, in addition to teaching...
My research examines the evolution of female dominance in lemurs, as well as lemur conservation, including the legal and illegal trade of wild-captured pet lemurs in Madagascar.
I am the founder and director of Lemur Love, a US registered 501(c)(3), which aims to inspire love for lemurs, in addition to carrying out scientific research and conservation work in Madagascar.
I’m a member of the IUCN Primate Specialist Group.
I'm also a cat enthusiast, taco aficionado, and admirer of fine grammar.
